About the Charity
We are a registered charity dedicated to improving the welfare, education, and social engagement of underserved communities. Through strategic partnerships with local organisations, the charity aims to educate and empower people with disabilities teaching cooking techniques, healthy eating on a budget, recipe-building and providing experiences such as pasta making with a local Italian chef, pizza making in genuine commercial pizza venues, beer brewing with local master brewer—plus we source donations for essential kitchen gear to make it all possible.
A message from our founder
My name is James Kirgan the founder of Food For Thought Australia LTD, and I'm dedicating my life to making a positive impact in the community through food education and training for people with disabilities.
I am a professional chef with a passion for helping others, and I've seen a need in our community for an organisation that can deliver training workshops teaching people with disabilities practical cooking techniques, healthy eating on a budget, recipes to make it happen and partner with local venues to create experiences in the hospitality industry they will never forget.
Drawing upon my 30 years experience working in commercial kitchens in Australia and the UK I have established Food For Thought Australia LTD with the goal of addressing these needs and improving the overall well-being of individuals and families in need. Through innovative programs and partnerships with local hospitality venues, Food For Thought Australia LTD is making significant strides, empowering vulnerable populations to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.
Working with partners such as Cypher Brewing, Deco Hotel and To All My Friends Pub we hope to create an experience that will never be forgotten and the skills to change peoples lives forever.
